Coastal Plains Dragway
is proud to announce it’s partnership with Carrier
Enterprises to bring you the newly formed
Carrier Week of Freedom” taking place
July 5th- 9th, 2022.
This week-long event will feature a different event each
night leading into the
“Night Under Fire presented by Lejeune Motorsports ”.
“After partnering with the Museum of the Marine, we
decided to step up our efforts to honor both our
military and first responders,” management stated. “We
look forward to spreading our wings a little and
offering fans
something other than just drag racing.”
The Stars and Strips Shootout will kick start the Week
of Freedom on
Tuesday July 5th
and will feature some
of the best bracket racing Eastern North Carolina has to
offer. Active Duty military will be allowed in free and
the concession stand will feature American themed food.
Gates will open at 6pm and racing will start at 7pm.
Wednesday July 6th
will feature the Majestic Motorsports Street Legal Drags
along with a No Time Shootout. Majestic Motorsports
customers will receive five dollars off admission and
automatically be entered for a drawing for a $100.00
gift card. Gates will open at 6pm with testing starting
at 7pm.
Our veterans will take center stage
Thursday night, July 7th
with The Museum of the Marine Car Show and Food Truck
Rodeo. We are working to secure and live band and will
have a complete flyer next week with all of the car show
classes. Food and other vendors are welcome but must
reserve a spot prior to the event.
Friday July 8th,
diesel trucks will invade CPD as the Greenline Diesel
Throwdown comes to town. This show features some of the
fastest diesel trucks on the planet. A complete flyer
will be released in the coming weeks.
All of these events lead up to one of the greatest
spectacles that Coastal Plains Dragway has ever seen
with the
Night Of Honor presented by Lejeune
Motorsports Saturday
July 9th. We are shooting for the stars on this event
by bringing in Jet Cars, Demo Drags and a Motorcycle
Stunt Show. Our Pre-Race Ceremonies will be one to
remember as we honor those who have served on the
frontlines at home and overseas. We will have a midway
for the kids and feature the touch-a-truck event thanks
to our friends at the Museum of the Marine. A complete
event flyer will be released Friday of this week.
“We can’t wait to honor those who have served,”
management explained. “This week its all about those who
have and continue to give us the true meaning of the
word FREEDOM.”
